The Gray Bach at Cape Palliser

Lattey were engaged to manufacture and erect the precast panels that form both internal and external walls. The steep access and high winds provided a real challenge for our crews.

The external panels are insulated sandwich panels incorporating extruded Styrofoam and fibreglass ties with galvanised mesh in the external cladding layer and a 150mm thick structural internal layer. This gives the external walls an R-value of 1.70, plus the benefits of thermal mass.

The plumbing and electrical pipes and fittings were cast into the panels in the factory minimising subcontractor time and travel to site.
