1. Precaster (Skilled Concrete Precaster)

Job type: Full time / permanent

Hours: 40 hours/week (Mon-Fri)

Approximate pay: $25 - $35 per hour

About the role:

We are looking for a skilled concrete precaster to join our team in our factory in Hastings, Hawke's Bay. This is a great opportunity for experienced precasters to continue delivering high-quality work within the concrete industry.

​

This role involves:

• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and plans

• Formwork methodologies for many varying types of formworks

• Understanding the many forms of threaded connections and fixings

• Accuracy with dimensions

• Good understanding of concrete reinforcements, placement, tying and support methods, lap joints, types and diameters

• An understanding of Quality Control

• Concrete pouring, screeding, floating, trowel finishing (hand and machine)

• A good understanding of the reasons for vibrating concrete

• Knowledge of concrete tool maintenance (hand and machine)

• Measuring, cutting and assembling materials as required for construction.

Skills and experience required:

• At least 3-4 years of relevant concrete construction experience OR

• Tertiary qualification in concrete construction

• The legal right to work in New Zealand or eligibility for an Accredited Employer Work Visa.

2. Experienced Civil Site Supervisor / Foreman

Location: Hastings, Hawke's Bay

Job type: Full time / permanent

Hours: Minimum 40 hours/week (Mon-Fri)

Approximate pay: $35 - $45 per hour

About the role:

This role is actively hands on and you will be primarily responsible for onsite supervision on specialised structure and piling projects for our clients.  You will be responsible for leading an operational team to deliver work on time, on budget and providing the team with an environment that puts safety and quality first.  The role includes being hands on with the team, organising and coordinating plant, equipment, and materials for the project(s) you are assigned to. Good communication between team members, clients and suppliers is essential.

​

This role is based in Hawkes Bay, but travel will be required throughout the Lower North Island. We will provide a company vehicle and phone. You will work a minimum of 40 hours/week (Mon-Fri), with additional hours required, depending on project demands.

​

This role involves:

• Responsibility for the planning and delivery of projects including understanding and project scope and objectives.

• Managing a small team on site and ensuring safe work practices are followed.

• Being hands-on and jumping in to assist your team directly on site at all times.

• Liaising with the client, other contractors and suppliers.

• Ensuring quality assurance documentation is completed.

• Maintaining a clean and organised work environment.

• Collaborating with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects.​

Skills and experience required:

Previous on-site experience in a similar role, ideally within the construction industry and with the following skills: 

 

• 4-7 years’ experience operating machinery such as excavators, cranes and piling rigs OR a Level 1 Tertiary Qualification.

• Valid NZ driver's license and WTR

• Preferable Crawler Crane US 27676 or Mobile Crane US 3789

• Preferable Class 4

• The legally right to work in NZ.

• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions.

• Strong work ethic and a positive attitude towards teamwork.

• High level of knowledge and understanding of the construction process and industry specialising in structure and piling.

3. Civil Plant / Piling Operator

This role is for skilled and experienced machine operators that can operator cranes, excavators, trucks or specialised piling equipment to support our team on our civil and construction projects across Hawke's Bay and Lower North Island. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with relevant experience to further develop their careers in civil industry and contribute to high-quality infrastructure projects.

This role involves:

• Operating cranes, excavators, trucks or specialised piling equipment according to level of experience and licenses held

• Experience in handling and preserving equipment to meet operational standards

• Actively pitching in with your teammates during on-site work

• Complying with safe operating procedures and best practices for the machinery

• Assisting with or complete site set out duties as instructed by the Site Supervisor or Project Manager

• Maintaining a clean and organised work environment

• Collaborating with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects.

Skills and experience required:

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, ideally within the construction industry, and also:

 

• 3-4 years’ experience operating machinery such as excavators, cranes, or piling rigs OR Level 4 Tertiary Qualification

• Valid NZ driver's license and WTR

• Preferable Class 2

• Preferable Rigging and Dogging certificate and Forklift licence

• The legal right to work in NZ.
