Lattey Group is proud to announce the acquisition of EcoReef®

EcoReef® is a groundbreaking New Zealand innovation designed to combat coastal erosion and support inland infrastructure.

Created by New Zealander Fred Walker, the hexagonal EcoReef® module is inspired by one of nature’s strongest shapes and forms the basis of an interlocking retaining system which can be used for coastal protection, slip remediation and bridge protection.
EcoReef® represents a significant breakthrough in coastal protection and civil engineering technology. Lattey Group see huge potential for this product, as councils and communities across New Zealand grapple with the challenges of coastal erosion and extreme weather events.
The reinforced modular blocks offer rapid and efficient installation, utilising locally sourced in-fill that is readily available on-site (sand, shingle or soil). There is no need for extensive foundations. This means less transportation of material to site is required, minimising environmental impact.
EcoReef® is an ideal solution for:
• Coastal protection
• Erosion control of coastlines and rivers
• Riverbank stabilisation
• Slope stabilisation
• Bridge abutments
• Public accessibility
• Roading over and under slips
• Retaining walls
• Flood protection

EcoReef® has already been used on twenty sites in the Wairarapa, Masterton and the Tararua region. Currently EcoReef® is being installed on two new projects, to protect our roading infrastructure, one near Akitio and the other on State Highway 50 at Glencoe South West of Hastings – look out for our blocks as you drive past!

Lattey Group are in the process of engaging key accredited companies nationwide, to become distribution partners; to assist the manufacture and supply of EcoReef® nationwide. Quality Roading and Services (QRS) based in Wairoa are the first company to partner with Lattey Group, which is also creating new job opportunities in the Wairoa district. The first project on the Mahia Peninsula is due to commence later this week.
